Netflix’s Stranger Things quickly developed a cult following soon after it was released. The online streaming service has confirmed the Stranger Things 2 release date today. Fans of the show have been looking forward to the upcoming season anxiously so they can start counting down the days now until they will be able to see what happens next.
Netflix confirmed the Stranger Things 2 release date via a new poster for the upcoming season that was posted by the company’s official Twitter account today. It depicts the show’s four protagonists staring down a rather ominous-looking storm.
A proper trailer for the second season of Stranger Things has already been released. It was aired during the Super Bowl earlier this year. The second season is set in 1984 and tips its hat at Ghostbusters on more than one occasion.
“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived,” reads the official description for the season.
Netflix has confirmed today that the Stranger Things 2 release date is October 27th. In true Netflix fashion, all episodes are going to be released on the very same day. This will allow fans to binge watch the show or savor it at their own pace.
