There’s no denying the fact that electric cars are going to be a big part of the future. Major auto manufacturers have realized that which is why they’re jumping on the bandwagon as well. BMW has now revealed an all-electric concept of its iconic Mini. One has to say, the possibility of an all-electric 3-door Mini is very exciting.

The design of the Mini Electric Concept is quite similar to the models that have already been launched. It retains the iconic circular headlights that are instantly recognizable as a Mini design element.

However, certain tweaks have been made to the design to signify that this is an all-electric model. These include the silver and yellow color scheme that’s handed down from the Mini E. The Mini E was an early experiment that paved the pay for the BMW i3.

The car also has Mini E badges on its radiator grille and the exterior mirror caps. They make it pretty evident that this will be an all-electric vehicle. The concept also pays homage to the car’s British heritage by including one half of an LED Union Jack inside each of its rear headlights.

BMW is getting the hype machine going for this car but the fact remains that Mini fans still have to wait for a couple of years before they can get an electric version. The production version of the Mini Electric isn’t expected before 2019.
