While the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con controllers are perfectly fine for gaming, there are some who might prefer the more traditional design of a gamepad. However the Nintendo Switch’s Pro controller is a bit pricey (although it does feel great), which means that some gamers might not be able to afford them.

However if you wanted a controller for your Switch but don’t want to spend too much, you might be interested to learn that PowerA has recently taken the wraps off two new controllers designed for the Switch in mind, with one model sporting a Zelda theme, while the other sports a Mario theme, and with each model priced at $30.

We should point out that both controllers are officially licensed by Nintendo, meaning that these are official controllers if you are concerned about that kind of thing. We can’t speak to the weight and feel of these controllers compared to the Pro Controller, but they do look pretty standard in terms of design.

They will sport interchangeable analog caps depending on your personal preference, and also a 10-foot removable USB cable. They have been listed as being released on the 23rd of October and pre-orders are currently being accepted on Amazon. You’ll be able to pre-order the Zelda model here and the Mario model here.
