Walmart today announced that it’s making the returns process easier for customers who shop online. Starting early next month, customers will be able to return an item for exchange or refund that was sold and shipped by Walmart.com using the Mobile Express Returns service. Walmart is leveraging its network of more than 4,700 physical stores to make the returns process faster and easier for its customers.

It will be very easy to return the items for exchange or refund. Customers can initiate the return from the Walmart app. They need to select the transaction in question and the items to return. They then follow the prompts to complete the process.

The return is then finished at the store. They need to head over to the Walmart store and fast-track through the line via the Mobile Express Lane at the Customer Service Desk. There, they scan the QR code displayed on the card reader in the Walmart app and then just hand over the item to the associate.

Walmart has also announced that customers returning select items will see an option in the app which will enable them to instantly receive their refund without even having to make a trip to the store to return the item.

However, this offer is initially going to be available on select household items like color cosmetics and shampoo. Walmart’s Mobile Express Returns service goes live early next month for app purchases. It will go live for store purchases early next year.
