Need for Speed Payback players have long requested that they be given an online free roam mode. Their wishes will come true in 2018. It has been confirmed by EA and Ghost Games that Need for Speed Payback is going to receive an online free roam mode later this year. Players who have been keeping their fingers crossed for this gameplay mode certainly have cause to be happy now.

EA and Ghost Games unveiled Need for Speed Payback in June. The title has an intense single-player campaign which follows the story of a group of friends that’s trying to fight off an evil cartel.

The online free roam mode will enable Need for Speed Payback players to explore the game’s massive world with other players online. The confirmation that an online free roam mode is going to arrive later this year was sent out via the official Twitter account for Need for Speed.

That’s not all. It has also been confirmed that the online free roam mode is not going to be a paid DLC, which means that it will be available for anyone who owns a copy of this game.

No further details are available at this point in time about this gameplay mode. A timeframe for its release hasn’t been provided as yet.
