Microsoft has made no secret of the fact that it wants to integrate its digital assistant Cortana with as many of its products and services as it possibly can. Perhaps that’s why it’s not surprising to hear that the company has been testing Cortana integration within the Outlook app for iOS and Android. If Microsoft is satisfied with the results that it gets from this test then it may not be long before this functionality rolls out to all users across the globe.

The Verge reports that Microsoft is testing Cortana within Outlook for Android and iOS. It will enable users to listen to and respond to emails using their voice. This is going to be very useful for listening to emails while driving as Microsoft is said to be testing Cortana integration within Outlook that will work over Bluetooth and read out email messages aloud.

The company is testing this integration internally and if the feedback is positive from its employees then it will eventually roll out this feature to the beta and public versions of Outlook for iOS and Android.

Just how soon that’s going to happen remains to be seen. I’m sure this is one feature that those who heavily rely on Outlook for their email certainly won’t mind having.
