If you were looking for a new monitor, one that features NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology, then you might be interested to learn that Acer has started to take pre-orders for its Predator X27 monitor. Now if this sounds familiar to you, it is because the monitor was actually announced back in 2017.

Acer back then did not mention when it would be launched, but it seems that more than a year later it is finally available for purchase. Unfortunately in terms of pricing, the Predator X27 will not come cheap with a price tag of $1,999. However it is a feature-packed monitor so if you have the cash to splash, it could be worth your consideration.

For starters we’re looking at a 27-inch display with a 4K resolution. It also sports a 144Hz refresh rate and a brightness that peaks at 1,000 nits. There is also full 10-bit support and support for the wide DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 4ms response time. Like we said, it will also feature NVIDIA’s G-Sync HDR technology.

For those unfamiliar with G-Sync (and AMD’s FreeSync) technology, it is basically a hardware answer to software features such as v-sync. It attempts to match the refresh rate of the game to the monitor which in turn prevents issues like screen tearing, resulting in a potentially smoother experience. According to Engadget, the reason for G-Sync monitors being priced higher is that it requires a proprietary NVIDIA module that costs companies an extra $100.
