OnePlus has already hyped up its next flagship smartphone considerably. The company recently confirmed that it’s going to officially unveil the OnePlus 6 on May 16th. We can expect to see a lot of leaks before then and as expected, images of the handset in the flesh have now surfaced online giving us a good look at the OnePlus 6.

One of the first things that OnePlus confirmed about this device was that it’s going to have a display notch. This led to instant comparisons with the iPhone X which can be credited with popularizing the display notch even though the idea itself predates the flagship iPhone.

We can see the OnePlus 6 being compared to the iPhone X in one of the leaked images and the difference in the size of the notch is visible. Though it merits mentioning here that the OnePlus 6 won’t have an advanced 3D facial recognition system as the iPhone X does which is why it has the larger notch. What these leaked images also reiterate is that the OnePlus 6 is going to stick with the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

As far as the specs are concerned, it has already been confirmed that the OnePlus 6 is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor from Qualcomm, that’s the same chip you find in flagships like the Galaxy S9.

OnePlus will confirm pricing and availability details for its new handset on May 16th.
