Several standalone online TV streaming services have raised prices in recent months and now Sony is following suit for its PlayStation Vue service. The company has confirmed in a blog post that it’s raising the price of PlayStation Vue packages by $5 across the board. All packages will now cost $5 more than they previously did.

Sony is far from the only TV streaming service operator to raise prices. Sling and YouTube TV have taken similar steps in recent months while AT&T announced a price increase for DirecTV just a couple of days ago.

Sony hasn’t really said why it’s increasing the cost of these packages, it just says that this decision has been made due to “rising business costs.”

PlayStation Vue offers four packages – Access, Core, Elite and Ultra – all of which will now cost $5 more than they did before. Sony points out that this price increase will go into effect starting July 24th.

Current PlayStation Vue subscribers will see the price change reflecting on their billing cycle after July 31st, 2018. This price change does not affect PlayStation Vue’s add-ons and standalone channels.

Nothing else changes for subscribers so they will continue to get the features that come with their monthly plan of choice which includes five simultaneous streams, cloud-based DVR, and some unique features such as multi-view on the PlayStation 4.
