Later this year Sony is expected to release the Venom movie starring Tom Hardy. For those unfamiliar, Venom is one of the antagonist (and sometimes protagonist) of the Spider-Man universe, although exactly how this Venom ties in with the MCU’s Spider-Man remains to be seen.

There is also the question of, is the movie going to be any good? We suppose we’ll have to wait and see, but in the meantime it seems that Hardy has apparently signed on to be in at least three Venom movies. This is according to a report from Total Film Magazine (via CBM) in which when asked about potential sequels, Hardy revealed that he had signed on for three Venom movies.

According to Hardy, “I’m open to whatever you want to do with it. We’ve signed up for three of them. So it’s very much an open case. We’ll see what people’s responses are to it. I think it’s an awesome character. I love playing both of them. It’s an amuse-bouche, and for Sony, it’s the Venom-verse launched in isolation, as it were.”

Now whether or not this results in a trilogy of Venom movies is unclear as the movie’s director appeared to be reluctant to commit to talks about a potential sequel, but should this movie prove successful, we don’t see why not. Venom is expected to be released on the 5th of October, 2018.
