Music discovery is one of the reasons why people use streaming services. This is because unlike regular ala carte systems, streaming lets you enjoy a variety of songs without having to pay for them individually. However the system that helps users find new songs also needs to be good to keep them interested.

Apple has come up with various ways to help with music discovery, and now it looks like they have rolled out a new feature for Apple Music in the form of Top 100 charts. According to the report, it seems that Apple will be launching 116 different Top 100 charts that will cover a variety of genres.

There will also be a Daily Top 100 chart that shows the top-streamed songs on Apple Music. Presumably the idea behind these charts is to give users a way to check out what are some of the most popular songs available right now, and lets them add it to their library or playlists. While useful for users, these top charts could also be useful for A&R scouts who might be on the lookout for rising indie artists and bands.

Either way if you’re a fan of charts and love listening to music charts on radio and such, then this addition to Apple Music could be worth checking out if you’re already subscribed to the service.
