Square Enix has in the past expressed their liking of the Nintendo Switch. The interest also led to some wondering if the company could be bringing some of their Final Fantasy titles onto the Switch, like they have in the past with the DS consoles. The company had stated last year that they were still trying to figure it out.

The good news is that it looks like the figuring out has already been done as Square Enix has since announced that Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD will be coming to the Switch. We know that the name is a mouthful and in case you aren’t familiar, this version of Final Fantasy XV will be different from the main game.

It was launched on mobile devices earlier this year where it was basically a mobile-optimized version of the game, where the characters were given cute makeovers. According to the description of the game, “All of the treasured moments from Final Fantasy XV, like driving the Regalia across breathtaking landscapes, camping, chocobo riding and more, can be experienced in a whole new way with the game’s creatively reimagined art style and in HD resolution for the Nintendo Switch.”

In addition to launching on the Switch, the version of the game is also expected to find its way onto the PS4 and the Xbox One. No release dates have been mentioned yet but in the meantime gamers can check out the launch trailer in the video above.
