Many have been wondering how Apple will name their 2018 iPhones. After all it did seem like the company painted themselves into a corner with last year’s branding. However a recent report claims that the names could be the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and the iPhone 9, with the former two being the OLED models while the iPhone 9 will sport the LCD screen.

However that might not necessarily be the case, at least according to a recent leak on Weibo in which a presentation slide from China Mobile was leaked. Based on the slide, it appears to be briefing the carrier’s staff about the upcoming iPhones and in the slide, the names of the new iPhones were revealed to be the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Plus, and the iPhone XC.

It was previously rumored that Apple could be prepared to drop the “Plus” branding from its phone, but assuming this is accurate, it looks like it could be sticking around. The choice to name the 6.1-inch model the XC is also interesting as it would seem to allude to the iPhone 5c from back then that also represented a cheaper iPhone model.

We did notice how the new color options for the 6.1-inch iPhone 9 (or iPhone XC) were reminiscent of the iPhone 5c, so for Apple to call it the iPhone XC really wouldn’t be surprising. Either way we should find out soon enough come 12th of September, so check back with us in the next couple of days for more updates.
