We have been hearing rumors that Google is planning to launch a new Pixelbook device. Just a couple of weeks ago, a video surfaced which showed the alleged device. Now thanks to the folks at About Chromebooks, it seems that they have managed to get their hands on what appears to be renders of the tablet/laptop hybrid.

It’s a bit hard to tell from the renders if this is the same device from the video, but the keyboard does look similar. From what we have heard so far, the keyboard will also be detachable from the screen, meaning that users have the option to turn the laptop into a tablet, a pretty common setup that we’ve been seeing in recent times.

Some other details that weren’t revealed in the video also includes how Google has included a fingerprint sensor on the edge of the display. This means that users can authenticate themselves as they open up the laptop. No word on what else we might be able to expect, but Google did confirm that they would be hosting an event on the 9th of October.

This is where Google is expected to announce its new Pixel smartphones, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they also took the opportunity to announce other products, like its new Pixelbook.
