Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Final Season has started its release, but as some of you guys might have heard, the company had recently announced that they will be closing up shop and it was also later revealed that The Walking Dead might not be completed and would end after episode 2 (the game, not the TV series).

This is a bummer because it means that the game will be incomplete, along with its story that Telltale has been working on for the past few years. However there is some good news in which according to a tweet by the company, it seems that they are trying to finish up the rest of the season.

The tweet reads that they have had “multiple potential partners” come forward and express their interest in helping Telltale complete the game. Given that Telltale has recently laid off the majority of their staff, it is understandable that they might not have the resources to do this alone. The studio does caution that this is by no means a guarantee that anything will happen, but it is something that they are looking into.

In the meantime episode 2 is expected to be released as scheduled, and fingers-crossed that episodes 3 and 4 will be able to make the final cut. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info. In the meantime Netflix is also looking for alternate ways to keep its Stranger Things game alive which was one of the games that Telltale was supposed to help develop.
