Telltale Games is the studio behind some popular episodic titles like The Walking Dead. However, it has been going through some troubles recently which led the studio to lay off a majority of its employees several weeks ago. Telltale was actually in assignment proceedings which are similar to bankruptcy. It has now been confirmed that this studio will be closing down for good.

Sherwood Partners will be the company handling the winding up proceedings of Telltale Games. Its co-founder Martin Pitchinson confirmed to GameDaily that the company is handling Telltale’s liquidation.

A former employee has also reported that their post employment healthcare insurance will stop by the end of this month. It was supposed to last for 18 months after their positions were terminated.

Some of Telltale’s games have been removed from sale on Steam as well. The titles include Back to the Future and Tales of Monkey Island. Even though the final season of The Walking Dead was pulled from sale temporarily it’s now listed once again on Steam with some other titles including Game of Thrones.

All of this goes to show that it’s the end of the road for Telltale Games. The two unreleased projects that it was working on, The Wolf Among Us 2 and Stranger Things, may never arrive.
