One of the reasons why many professionals loved Apple’s older Mac Pro was due to the fact that it could be easily upgraded by swapping parts in and out. This is versus the current-gen Mac Pro which seems a bit more tricky. Apple had previously acknowledged that they have a new Mac Pro in the works that will bring back the modular features.

Now according to a report from Architosh, it seems that Apple could offer a sneak peek of its modular Mac Pro at its upcoming event on the 30th of October. Apple will be hosting an event at the end of the month where they are expected to unveil its updated iPads and also new Mac computers that weren’t refreshed earlier this year.

However some are now speculating that the event could see Apple offer a sneak peek of the new Mac Pros that are expected to arrive next year. It is unclear if this sneak peek will be given to select journalists or if it will be on display to all, like Apple did with the current Mac Pro when they teased its launch a few years ago.

Apple’s Phil Schiller had confirmed to TechCrunch last year that they had a new Mac Pro in the works. Schiller said, “As part of doing a new Mac Pro — it is, by definition, a modular system — we will be doing a Pro display as well. Now you won’t see any of those products this year; we’re in the process of that. We think it’s really important to create something great for our pro customers who want a Mac Pro modular system, and that’ll take longer than this year to do.”

Whether or not we’ll see the new Mac Pro preview this year remains to be seen, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
