It has never exactly been cheap to repair an out-of-warranty iPhone or to get a repair that’s not covered by the warranty. This doesn’t change with the iPhone XR as well. Apple has now revealed the iPhone XR repair fees and as expected, they will make a dent in your pocket if the damage isn’t covered by warranty.

Apple has posted documents on its website detailing the iPhone XR repair fees. A screen repair for an iPhone XR that’s not in warranty or that has been accidentally damaged is going to cost $199. Other damage to the device, including its back, is going to cost $399 to repair.

Customers who opt for AppleCare+ when purchasing their device will have to pay $29 for getting the screen repaired and $99 for any other damage. That’s the benefit customers get when they purchase this additional coverage but it obviously makes a difference only when there’s some repair work to be done.

It would be possible to get repairs done on the device for less from third-parties but those who are looking to get it done from Apple itself then they will have to pay a pretty penny for it. Screen repairs for the iPhone XS and XS Max not in warranty cost $279 and $329 respectively.
