We’ve known for a while that a movie based on Detective Pikachu was in the works, and it looks like we finally know what the movie could look like. Warner Bros. has recently released the official trailer for the upcoming movie which will also double as the first live-action Pokemon movie that combines that use of human actors, voice actors, and CG.

According to the synopsis of the movie, “The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself.”

As some of you might have heard, actor Ryan Reynolds will be doing the voice acting for Pikachu. While Pikachu for the most part has never been known to talk, except to say, “Pika!”, it’s actually interesting to hear the character brought to life. Also for whatever reason, Reynolds seems to be a pretty good fit for the role, at least based on what we’ve heard so far.

The movie will also give us a look at what some of the Pokemon will look like, so for Pokemon fans, this could be worth checking out. The movie is currently set for a release on the 10th of May, 2019 and you can check out the trailer above if you have a few minutes to spare.
