Over the years, Apple has been losing ground to Chinese companies who have been successful at making phones at great prices, but also come with competitive specs and features. A good example would be Huawei who managed to beat Apple to become the world’s second largest smartphone company.

Even some analysts who are typically upbeat about Apple’s performance have recently stated that Huawei’s Mate 20 could be giving Apple a run for their money. However everyone loves a good sale and it looks like for Alibaba’s Singles Day, Apple’s iPhone has managed to top the list by being the top-selling mobile phone brand during the event.

This has allowed Apple to beat out the likes of Huawei and Xiaomi, both of whom come in second and third place respectively. It is unclear as to how much Apple’s iPhones managed to bring in on that day, but given that Alibaba managed to earn $1 billion in under two minutes and a grand total of $30.8 billion in 24 hours, it’s safe to say that it was a pretty lucrative event.

It is also unclear as to which iPhones were sold and how many of each model. This by no means suggests that the newly-launched iPhone Xs, Xs Max, or the XR is doing well because for all we know, customers could be flocking to the older models, but either way it does seem like a good position to be in at the end of the day.
