At the moment The Punisher is one of two remaining original Marvel TV series left on Netflix. The show’s first season kicked off with rave reviews, so safe to say that many were excited to see what the second season could bring to the table. The good news is that it looks like fans won’t have to wait much longer as the second season is expected to kick off in January, 2019.

Three new cast members were added last year in the form of Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, and Giorgia Whigham, who are expected to play as John Pilgrim, Krisa Dumont, and Amy Bendix respectively. It is also expected that actors Amber Rose Revah, Ben Barnes, and Jason R. Moore will be reprising their roles from the previous season.

That being said, it is safe to assume that many are probably wondering about the fate of the show. Netflix seems to be on a cancelling spree where they first cancelled Iron Fist, followed by Luke Cage, and then Daredevil, a move that surprised everyone including its writers who were already working on a fourth season.

This means that The Punisher and Jessica Jones are the only original Marvel TV shows left on Netflix, and based on this pattern, many feel that those two shows probably won’t survive past their new seasons, but we’ll have to wait and see. If that is true, hopefully they’ll wrap up the shows in a way that doesn’t leave any questions unanswered.
