According to the rumors, Apple is said to be working on a new iPad mini tablet. A leak from last month hinted that we could be looking at a new design which isn’t surprising given how old the tablet is. However a new leak from Twitter user Mr White (via Cult of Mac) seems to suggest otherwise.

The leak shows alleged photos of that of the iPad mini 5. This seems like it could be the cellular model due to the antenna bands spotted at the top of the tablet, but other than that, the tablet looks pretty much like its predecessor. This is versus the previous leak which seemed to indicate that the iPad mini 5 could have a new camera design with a new flash unit.

So either this new photo has proven the previous leak wrong, or this could simply be an early prototype, or it could be fake. This isn’t to say that the previous leak was real, but like we said the iPad mini hasn’t really seen a refresh in its design for a very long time so we would expect that Apple might want to make some changes in that area.

No word on when the tablet is expected to be announced, but hopefully we’ll find out in the next few months where Apple sometimes hosts an event of its own to announced refreshed products. Until then it’s probably best to take these leaks with a grain of salt.
