Many Marvel fans are anxiously looking forward to the Captain Marvel movie that’s due to come out in a couple of months. A new trailer for the movie aired during the College Football Playoff National Championship game and it marks the return of Agent Coulson. His character is much loved by fans and they will be delighted to see him return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans will remember that Coulson appeared to die in the first Avengers film that was released in 2012. However, he continued to live on in ABC’s Agents of SHIELD spinoff. He’s returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain Marvel but much like Agent Nick Fury, he’ll be much younger in his film compared to his other outings.

Captain Marvel is set long before the events of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe films with Captain America: The First Avenger being an exception, as that film took place during the Second World War.

The trailer offers another glimpse of the camaraderie between Carol Danvers a.k.a Captain Marvel and Agent Nick Fury. There are some action sequences as well showing the former taking on the alien species that wants to take over the world. Captain Marvel will hit the big screen on March 8th, 2019.
