In-case Google Assistant accessories are a big thing at the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 in Las Vegas this week and Anker is not one to sit on the sidelines. The company has announced its own in-car Google Assistant accessory called the Roav Bolt. It’s quite similar in its form and function to JBL’s Link Drive.

This isn’t the first product of its kind from Anker. The company has previously launched the Roav Vivo which was an in-car phone charger that also doubled as an Alexa speaker. The Roav Bolt is a bit different in that it offers the Google Assistant. It also has two fast-charging USB ports.

Much like the JBL Link Drive, it’s plugged into the car’s 12V cigarette lighter and is capable of providing an audio output over Bluetooth or an Aux cable. The main connection for the Google Assistant is provided by the connected device and not the Bolt itself. It can’t do that since Assistant can’t run natively on the device.

It does have an advantage over the Link Drive from JBL. While that accessory has one USB 2.1A port, the Roav Bolt has two fast-charging USB ports. At $49.99, it’s also cheaper. It will be available later this month and can be pre-ordered now from Anker’s website.
