EA and BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic franchise is one of the more beloved Star War video game franchises around at the moment. However if you were hoping to see Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3 anytime soon, then you probably shouldn’t hold your breath because it might not be coming anytime soon, if at all.

This is according to a tweet by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier in which he claims that from what he has heard, EA doesn’t seem to be too interested in the idea. Apparently BioWare had pitched the idea to EA multiple times over the years, but to no avail. There was some hope when EA had signed a new licensing deal with Disney, and with writer Drew Karpyshyn returning to BioWare, but unfortunately nothing has come from it.

The last time we saw a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game was back in 2004 with The Sith Lords. EA later launched The Old Republic MMORPG which while it had its fans, did not exactly do well either which forced the company to switch to a free-to-play model to encourage more players to hop on board. It is unclear why EA might not be interested in a new Knights of the Old Republic title, but if the tweet is any accurate, we probably shouldn’t get our hopes up at seeing the third installation anytime soon.
