The first and second seasons of Netflix’s Stranger Things were released in consecutive years, with the first season releasing in 2016, followed by season two in 2017. Unfortunately season three skipped 2018, where Netflix later confirmed that it would instead be released in 2019, but when exactly?

For those who have been anticipating the release of season three, you’ll be very pleased to learn that Netflix has since confirmed that Stranger Things will be returning to their platform on the 4th of July, 2019. Given that the 4th of July is also Independence Day and is a public holiday in the US, it means that those who are living in the US will be able to binge watch the entire season on the day itself, assuming you have nothing else to do.

Most (if not all) of the cast from the previous season will be returning to reprise their roles. It is unclear as to what the third season is expected to be about, but perhaps we could see the show explore more details about the Upside Down. In season two it showed how the Upside Down was attempting to breach into the current world, so it would make sense if season three were to either show the Upside Down successfully breaching in a larger scale, or it could see our heroes attempt to maybe destroy the Upside Down to prevent breaches in the future.

In any case only time will tell so mark your calendars for the 4th of July, 2019. Season three is also not expected to be the show’s last season because last we heard, the show’s producer and director Shawn Levy had confirmed back in 2018 that season four is “definitely happening”.
