According to some very persistent rumors, Apple could be removing 3D Touch from its future iPhones. It turns out that those rumors could be true because according to reports, those who have gotten their hands on the beta version of iOS 13 have discovered evidence to suggest that 3D Touch has indeed been removed from future handsets.

This is because according to the beta, the features of 3D Touch are still around, but they are instead only accessible with long-press gestures. This includes Peek and Pop, Quick Actions, and so on. This is also bad news as it will probably end up killing off the functionality for existing handsets that do have 3D Touch.

That being said, it’s not surprising that Apple is killing off 3D Touch. The feature, which did hold a lot of potential, never quite caught on. This is because there was no clear way to know whether an app supported 3D Touch, meaning that for the most part, most users would have probably just ended up ignoring or neglecting the feature.

For a moment, pressure-sensitive displays were on the cusp of being the next big thing with rumors that Android handsets would be adopting the feature as well, but that did not quite pan out. Will you miss 3D Touch when it’s gone, or do you think that it will most likely not affect how you use your iPhone?
