Apple has always prided itself in being a privacy-focused company, and throughout the years, the company has made changes to its iOS platform which tries to keep its users’ privacy intact while also keeping them informed of what’s going on. For example, there will be an icon in your status bar that shows when an app is tracking your location.

However, it seems that with iOS 13, Apple will be taking it to the next level by not only showing you which apps are tracking you, but where it has been tracking you. For example, in the screenshot above, it shows a permission request where iOS 13 will prompt the user to ask if they wish to allow an app to continue tracking their location even in the background.

To top it off, it also comes with a small map preview in which it shows you where the app has been tracking your location. In this case, the app in question is the Tesla app which makes sense that it would track your location as it is related to your car. This also means that if an app has been tracking your location when you don’t think that it should, then you know that something is not right.

According to Apple, they claim that users of iOS 13 should be able to expect these periodic popups that will help them constantly keep their privacy settings and permissions updated. We imagine that it could get annoying, but if you truly value your privacy and hate the idea of apps tracking you, then this could be useful. iOS 13 is expected to be released in the later part of the year.
