Apple recently took the wraps off their new Mac Pro and as we said, it does not come cheap where it has a base price of $5,999. This means that should a user customize it with higher-end hardware, things could get pricey, but how pricey? Apple has yet to put the computer up for sale which means that we’re not sure how much the other configurations could cost, but The Verge has an estimate that could stop you in your tracks.

According to The Verge, they have estimated that a fully specced out Mac Pro together with the new Pro Display XDR (which costs $4,999) could cost a staggering $50,000. According to their estimates, they have taken the base Mac Pro, added 12x sticks of 128GB of DDR4 ECC RAM which will add another $18,000 to the total cost.

They also threw in 2x 2TB SSDs which would cost an extra $2,400, and they also upgraded the Intel Core Xeon processor to the 28-core Intel Core Xeon W 2.5GHz processor which would add an extra $7,500. As for the graphics, they threw in two AMD Radeon Pro Vega II GPUs, which they have estimated to cost $12,000 in total.

All of this will set you back around $50,000 give or take. As to whether or not these figures are official is unclear as they are very rough estimates, but suffice to say that with a base price of $5,999, we imagine that any upgrades won’t come cheap.
