For a while now, we have been hearing rumors that Apple could be working on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro that could be coming later this year. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but it was reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who’s had an excellent track record when it comes to predicting Apple’s plans.

Now to back up Kuo’s predictions, a new report from DigiTimes is also “confirming” that the 16-inch MacBook Pro is on track for a release this September, where the laptop is expected to sport thinner bezels which could potentially allow it to maintain a form factor similar to the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen.

Now, before you get too excited at the prospect of a 16-inch MacBook Pro, we should point out that this model will not be coming cheap. This is because this laptop will indeed be aimed at professionals where we have heard that it might be priced starting at a whopping $3,000. However, one of the upsides is that it will allegedly be packing a new scissors switch keyboard that will replace Apple’s butterfly switch mechanism.

In any case, take it with a grain of salt for now, but if the September rumors are true, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
