One of the reasons why the AirPods is such a hot-selling item is because it seems to have found a nice balance between being affordable and also functional. While it’s not the cheapest, its features have made it worth their weight. However, it seems that Los Angeles designer Ian Delucca has a pair of AirPods that look out of this world.

This is because Delucca has encrusted Apple’s AirPods with diamonds, where it has brought the total cost of the AirPods up to a whopping $20,000. We’re not sure who would buy a pair of these AirPods, especially when you consider the fact that these devices have a shelf life, thanks to its battery in which many first-gen AirPod adopters were finding out that its battery started going down pretty fast after a year.

Plus, with there being rumors of a water-resistant set of AirPods arriving later this year, who would want to buy them? Then again, we guess if you can afford to drop $20,000 on a pair of diamond-encrusted AirPods, feature and functionality might not necessarily be high on your list of priorities.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Apple products being blinged out. The company’s smartphones and computers are notorious for being expensive, and this probably doesn’t do much to shed that image.
