Towards the end of last year and based on reports coming in from early this year, it seemed that Apple’s iPhone XR proved to be a hit, more so than its more expensive iPhone XS and XS Max siblings. This shouldn’t really be a surprise as Apple’s iPhone prices have gotten way out of hand, making the iPhone XR a more attractive alternative, especially since you wouldn’t be compromising too much.

This is why we can’t say that we’re too surprised at this year’s Apple invites. Yes, Apple has sent out invites for an event that will be held on the 10th of September. This year’s invite seems to be particularly colorful which some have speculated could be hinting at the iPhone XR 2’s new color options.

An earlier rumor suggested that the iPhone XR 2 will be coming in a new green and lavender finish, with both colors featured in the invite. It’s actually interesting that Apple would make the iPhone XR 2 the star of the invite, but like we said, all the reports seem to suggest that more customers are buying the iPhone XR instead of the higher-end flagship handsets.

This year’s iPhone XR could be even more compelling because while it will continue using LCD as its display of choice, it is expected to feature a dual camera, an upgrade over the iPhone XR’s single camera setup.
