According to the rumors, Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro will actually look a lot like the 15-inch MacBook Pro. This is because while the screen will be larger, it will have thinner bezels that will help it maintain its overall size. Now according to a report from 9to5Mac, they have discovered a new image in macOS 10.15.1 which suggests a slightly redesigned Touch Bar.

As you can see in the image above, the Touch ID button seems to have been separated from the Touch Bar itself. In case you’re unfamiliar, current MacBooks with the Touch Bar feature a look that stretches the Touch Bar from end to end, with the Touch ID button at the right hand corner. The way it’s been designed makes it look seamless, but with this design, Touch ID has been clearly separated from the Touch Bar.

It has been speculated in the past that Apple could actually also introduce a physical Esc button. Right now, Esc exists as a software button on the Touch Bar, which some users weren’t too thrilled about. With this redesigned Touch Bar, it has led to speculation that a physical Esc button could be part of this design. Some of the other changes include a redesigned scissor switch keyboard.

That being said, it is unclear when the laptop will be announced. It was previously rumored that the laptop could be announced this month, but it’s starting to feel unlikely. A new report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is now suggesting that it might not arrive until mid-2020.
