It’s no secret that the AirPods is one of Apple’s best-selling accessories in recent years. This is despite the fact that many had ridiculed the design of the earbuds when it first launched, but fast forward to today, it seems that they are just flying off the shelves. In fact, according to analyst Dan Ives at Wedbush, has sold like hotcakes over the weekend.

Based on channel checks and inventory shortages at retailers, Ives has estimated that Apple might have sold as many as 3 million AirPods over the weekend where Black Friday took place. We’re not sure if this was spurred by the Black Friday sales, but it has been suggested that customers are interested in the AirPods regardless, and would have most likely bought them for the upcoming holiday season.

As it stands, Apple is selling the second-gen AirPods for $159 or $199 with the Qi-wireless charging case, or if you have the cash to splash, there is also the AirPods Pro which is being sold for $249 which offers up improved audio quality and also active noise cancelling features. In fact, there was a recent rumor that even suggested that Apple could consider bundling the AirPods with its 2020 iPhones.

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen as we imagine that this will end up eating into the profit margins of the company, so it’s probably best to take that particular rumor with a grain of salt for now.
