If the rumors are to be believed, Apple could be working on an iPhone SE 2 that could launch in 2020. The rumors are claiming that in terms of design, it will be a departure from the original iPhone SE’s design which looks like the iPhone 5. Instead, the iPhone SE 2 is expected to adopt a more “modern” design where it will be reminiscent of the iPhone 8.

Now according to a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he claims that Apple is expected to continue the iPhone SE lineup even into 2021. Dubbed the iPhone SE 2 Plus, this iPhone is expected to adopt a full screen design, meaning that it will see the handset ditch Touch ID on the front which could still be present in next year’s iPhone SE 2 model.

Before you get too excited, no, it does not mean that Apple could bring Face ID to the iPhone SE 2 Plus. Instead, Kuo claims that Touch ID will still be integrated into the phone, except that Apple could be borrowing an idea from Sony and integrate Touch ID into the power button which will be located on the side of the iPhone.

That being said, it will be interesting to see how well-received the iPhone SE 2 could be. Apple has enjoyed huge success with the more affordable iPhone XR and iPhone 11, so we wondering if the iPhone SE 2 will end up contributing to that, or if it might be too low-end for Apple customers to bother.
