Walk about the streets these days and you would be hardpressed to find someone without Apple’s AirPods sitting in their ears. In fact, did you know that Apple’s AirPods are so popular that as far as the true wireless headphone market is concerned, Apple managed to nab about 71% of the market’s revenue?

This is according to a report from Strategy Analytics who claims that back in 2019, Apple sold about 60 million AirPods and also managed to earn 71% of the revenue from that particular market. According to Strategy Analytics, they believe that Apple is expected to continue their dominance for the next five years.

This is actually surprising when you consider that when Apple first launched the AirPods, no one really gave it much thought. Many had in fact made fun of it, but time has proven that the AirPods are becoming a must-have item for iPhone owners due to their portable nature and also how quickly and easily they pair with iOS devices.

Apple has also since released the AirPods Pro, a variant of the AirPods with better sound quality and active noise cancellation. Not too long ago, there was even a slightly outlandish rumor that said that Apple could be considering bundling the AirPods with its 2020 iPhones. However, we doubt that this is true as it would effectively mean a lot of lost sales for the company.
