If the rumors are to be believed, in the next few months, there is a good chance that we could see Apple launch the iPhone SE 2. Unlike the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, the iPhone SE 2 is expected to be a true budget model with its specs largely based on the iPhone 8. Now according to a report from DigiTimes, the publication claims that we could not only see one iPhone SE 2 model, but we could actually see two.

However, if you were hoping that both models will be launched in the coming months, apparently that will not be the case. The report claims that the second iPhone SE 2 might actually be launched in the later part of the year, potentially alongside the 2020 flagship iPhones, which have been rumored to be notchless and feature an in-display Touch ID sensor.

Alternatively, it could also launch in 2021 which seems to be in line with an earlier rumor regarding an iPhone SE 2 Plus model. The report goes on to claim that the second iPhone SE 2 model could have a display between 5.5-inches to 6.1-inches, but other than that, we’re not sure what kind of specs the phone could be packing.

Needless to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, especially given that DigiTimes’ track record for Apple-related rumors. However, we’ve seen a lot of interest in Apple’s more affordable iPhone lineup, so it makes sense that the company would want to introduce more affordable models to capture the lower-end market.
