Sony’s PS5 will be launching later this year, but we imagine that based on the history of the PlayStation launches, it might be hard to get at the start. We had heard that Sony could be looking to control orders for the console by limiting it to one console per household, and if you are interested, here’s how you can get it.Sony has since launched a registration page where gamers who are interested in being one of the first few to purchase the console can sign up. According to Sony, “There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation.”
Basically, gamers can take part in a raffle in which if they are chosen, they will be given an invite to purchase the console and guarantee themselves a unit when it becomes available. As Sony notes, there will be limited quantities of the PS5 at launch, so by registering, you’ll stand a better chance of nabbing it once it goes live.
However, we should note that registering does not guarantee you a spot, but rather it just gives you a chance at nabbing an invite. Gamers who are interested just need to fill up the form on Sony’s website including their PSN and then check their emails in the future to see if they’ve “won”.
