One of the rumored features of the iPhone 12 is that it will come with support for 5G. Now thanks to a post by Evan Blass, he shared what appears to be a leaked promo email from a carrier (unspecified) that basically confirms it. In addition to confirming the feature, the email also hints at a possible launch date.

According to the email, it suggests that pre-orders for the iPhone 12 will end on the 20th of October. Based on how Apple has released products in the past, this means that the iPhone 12 will most likely be launching in mid-October as per the rumors. Of course, none of this can be confirmed right now so take it with a grain of salt, but you would expect that carriers will have information earlier than the general public to prepare marketing materials and to get their stuff in order.

That being said, the revelation of 5G included with the iPhone 12 doesn’t come as a surprise. Many had expected it to be included in this year’s iPhones, so if anything, it would be an even bigger surprise if Apple skips on the feature. We’re not sure if there are plans to bring 5G across the entire lineup or if it could be exclusive to certain models, but we’ll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, Apple has confirmed that they will be hosting an event on the 15th of September, but this will not be for the iPhone 12. Instead, many have speculated that it will most likely be for the new Apple Watch and new iPad.
