One of the new features that Apple introduced in iOS 14 was the ability to add widgets to your home screen. This has since led to many iOS users customizing their home screens in new and creative ways, and some have even gone to the extent of changing their app icons, and Launch Center Pro’s new update makes that process easier.

For those who are unfamiliar with the process, the only way you could change your app’s icon was to use Shortcuts. You would then need to create a shortcut that launches the app and then change the icon from there. The problem with that method is that it doesn’t open the app directly, and it would actually launch Shortcuts first to execute the script before the app is launched.

Clearly this is a roundabout way but it was the only way, at least until this update. With the latest update, Launch Center Pro will now allow users to customize their app’s icons without going through the roundabout method of using Shortcuts, which is actually pretty awesome. However, we should mention that while most of Launch Center Pro’s features are free, some of them, like the ability to customize app icons, are locked behind an in-app purchase or a subscription if you want to unlock everything.

We suppose this is up to you to decide whether or not this is a feature worth paying for, but if you’re interested, you can download the app from the App Store.
