Apple’s iPad mini, as the name suggests, is currently the smallest out of the entire iPad lineup with a 7.9-inch display. Given that Apple has since launched iPads with 12.9-inch displays, it certainly does feel a lot smaller, but Apple could change that with their next iPad mini refresh, according to a report from Macotakara.

The report claims that Apple will apparently be giving the iPad mini an upsize where they will be bumping the display up from 7.9-inches to 8.4-inches, making it a not-so-mini upgrade. It will still be the smallest iPad out of the entire lineup, but it won’t be as small as it used to be. Whether or not this is a good change depends on the user.

We can understand why some people might prefer the smaller form factor, but at the same time, we’re sure that there are some iPad mini fans who probably wish that it was slightly larger. As for the design, it is said that it will be similar to the 3rd gen iPad Air and that it will continue to feature the use of Touch ID and the Lightning port.

This means that it won’t be as “modern” compared to Apple’s higher-end iPads, but presumably it will cater to those who want an iPad but don’t want to pay too much for it.
