For a while now it has been rumored that Apple could be working on a 14-inch MacBook Pro and according to the latest rumors from DigiTimes, it seems that the 14-inch MacBook Pro could be coming later this year. It is expected to be launched alongside the refresh of the 16-inch model where both models could sport mini LED displays.

If the rumors are true, this could be a couple of firsts for Apple. It would represent the first time Apple’s laptops will sport a display other than LCD. It would also make it the first 14-inch MacBook Pro from Apple, although we have to wonder where this will leave the 13-inch model and if Apple could discontinue it in favor of the 14-inch one.

Given that the 16-inch MacBook Pro did replace the 15-inch model, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the 14-inch were to replace the 13-inch model. That being said, these laptops won’t be the first mini LED devices from Apple either. The rumors are saying that the iPad Pro refresh could be the first mini LED devices from Apple, so it will be interesting to see what it could look like and what we might be able to look forward to.

Apple is also rumored to be introducing a HDMI port to the new MacBooks as well as bringing back the SD card slot.
