If you use Google Chrome and tend to have a ton of tabs open at the same time, you’re probably aware that the more tabs you open, the smaller they get as Chrome tries to squeeze as many of them on your screen as possible. This is designed to make it easier for users to pick the tab they want.
However, it isn’t always very conducive as the smaller the tabs, it becomes harder to make out what they are. Now according to a report from XDA Developers, Google is looking to address that by testing out a new scrolling tabs feature. Basically what this does is that it keeps the tabs at its maximum width but also allowing users to scroll through them in case there isn’t enough space on the screen.
This scrolling action can be done using either the scroll wheel on your mouse or your trackpad or use the left and right buttons on your keyboard. It’s a pretty useful feature to have and we’re sure that some users might be able to appreciate it as it will make the tabs more legible, as opposed to being cramped and not knowing what they are.
At the moment the feature is currently in testing but they can be enabled if you go to chrome://flags on your Chrome browser. Note that since it is a feature that’s being tested, it could be subject to change if Google ever decides to release it to the masses.
