When Apple introduced the second-gen Apple Pencil a few years ago, they brought various changes to the design and features of the stylus. This included a matte finish, magnetic charging, and also the ability to double tap on the stylus to change functions while using different types of apps.

That being said, we doubt that Apple is done improving on the Apple Pencil. In fact, a third-gen model could be in the works. This is according to a tweet by Mr White in which he shared a photo of what is allegedly the third-gen Apple Pencil model. From the photo alone, it’s hard to tell what’s different.

However, from what we can make of it, it seems to have gone back to the glossy design instead of the matte finish. The tip also seems to be a bit different where at least judging from the photos, it seems bigger. The part which attaches to the body of the stylus also seems to be longer, which we’re not sure if there is a reason behind it but it suggests that there could be some internal changes.

Either way, the last time Apple issued an update to the Apple Pencil was back in 2018. It is now 2021 which means that we wouldn’t be surprised if there could be a new model. There have been rumors suggesting that Apple could actually launch mini LED iPads this year, so perhaps this new Apple Pencil could debut alongside it.
