The last time Apple introduced an update to the Apple Pencil it was back in 2018 where the stylus came with a redesigned body and charging system. It was a much-welcome update over the clunky method from the original Apple Pencil. We have heard rumors that Apple could be working on the Apple Pencil 3 with a redesigned tip, and now it seems that the device could debut next week.

This is according to a post made on Weibo in which it claims that Apple will launch the third-gen Apple Pencil next week at its Spring Loaded event currently scheduled for the 20th of April. Apart from the initial rumors about a redesigned tip, not much else is known about the third-gen model.

The main differences between the first and second-gen Apple Pencil was its design and charging method, and with the second-gen model featuring support for gestures on its body that let users change between different writing tools in apps. It is possible that maybe the third-gen model could come with improvements like greater accuracy or lower latency, but that’s just speculation on our end.

Either way, hopefully we will have more details next week, so remember to check back with us next Tuesday for all the official information on what Apple has announced.
