Apple’s iPad mini is actually a rather perfect size. It’s small enough to make it easy to be brought around, but also big enough to make it comfortable for use when reading books, watching videos, surfing the web, and so on. Unfortunately, the design of the iPad mini is kind of dated compared to its larger and newer siblings.

The good news is that the next refresh could change that slightly. In a photo shared by David Kowalski with Pigtou, it shows what appears to be a mockup that is based on the alleged design of the next-gen iPad mini, and from what we can tell, it looks like the next-gen iPad mini could sport an edge-to-edge display.

The iPad mini in its current iteration is still based on the old design with massive bezels and a physical home button. However, if this mockup and the rumors are to be believed, the iPad mini 6 could feature close to no bezels and also no more home button. We’re not sure if Apple will include Face ID or an in-display fingerprint sensor or if they could integrate Touch ID into the power button, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Apple has been rumored to be hosting an event later this month where we could see some product refreshes, but to date no invites have been sent out.
