Earlier, it was reported that within the Apple Music Android app, there were references spotted to a potential lossless streaming option. This comes on the heels of an earlier report that suggested that Apple was working on a “HiFi” lossless streaming option for Apple Music, and now it looks like those rumors could be coming true.

In the Browse tab on the Apple Music app, it seems that Apple is hinting that something will be announced very soon. The teaser reads, “Get ready – music is about to change forever”. It is rather vague but given the rumors, it’s not hard to imagine that this could be a teaser for the upcoming lossless streaming option.

Apple has not confirmed when this new service will be launched, but as some of you might have heard, Apple has apparently scheduled an announcement for the 18th of May where not only will this new streaming option be announced, but it will also see the announcement of a couple of new products like the third-gen AirPods.

Right now it is unclear if this lossless streaming option will be a separate paid tier of Apple Music, or if it will be available to all users. Streaming services like Tidal offer different paid tiers for different quality streams, so there is a good chance Apple will end up doing the same, but either way check back with us on the 18th of May for the details.
