One of the advantages of buying into the Apple ecosystem is that you get to take advantage of features like a universal clipboard, where you can copy an item on your iPhone and paste it onto your iPad, and vice versa. The good news is that if you don’t buy into the Apple ecosystem, OnePlus has a solution for you.

The company’s OneLab team has announced a new app called Clipt. This is basically a universal clipboard tool that lets you share things you’ve copied on one eligible device onto the other, like from your Android phone to your PC, and so on. Right now, the app is only available for Android devices but OnePlus states that they are working on an iOS version as well.

According to OnePlus, “The app uses your own Google Drive to transfer the data, and we only transfer a way to identify that data and tell the other devices so it’s safe and secure. In the permissions, you’ll see we request the read and write of your Google storage, but Clipt can only download the files it creates as it’s siloed. In the app or extension we keep the last 10 items available to you, but after that it auto deletes so it won’t fill up your storage.”

It’s actually a pretty cool app although there are alternatives out there, but Clipt is free to use so if you have an Android device, you can download it from the Play Store and also get the Chrome extension here.
