OnePlus made a name for themselves by making value for money phones. The company later expanded on their product offerings with earbuds and eventually a smartwatch, but could a tablet be next on the list? According to a recent trademark filing, it certainly seems to be looking that way.

According to a report from MySmartPrice, they have stumbled across a filing at the European Union Intellectual Property Office by OnePlus for a device called the “OnePlus Pad”. Now obviously based on this name, if this device isn’t a tablet then we don’t know what else it could be as far as tech gadgets are concerned.

Apart from the name, not much else is known about the device. This is the first indication that we’re seeing about the company’s possible tablet ambitions. It is interesting though because for the most part, the tablet market is dominated by Apple. Samsung has had some success with some of their tablet lineups, but when it comes to tablets, it has become synonymous with Apple’s iPad.

We’re not sure what OnePlus could do to change that perception, but it might be interesting to see them try. After all, they managed to successfully break into the market where many other brands have tried and failed, so maybe they could pull this off.
