Out of Apple’s entire iPad lineup, it feels as though the iPad mini is the most neglected. However, if you’re a fan of the iPad mini and would like to see a refresh, you’ll be pleased to learn that come this fall, Apple could be launching a new and redesigned model, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter.

Now, we should note that this isn’t the first time there have been rumors of a redesigned iPad mini. We have been hearing rumblings that a redesigned iPad mini could be in development where it is expected to adopt a similar flat-edge design like the iPad Pro, except that it will be smaller.

We’re not sure if the reduced bezels could mean a larger display or if Apple will keep the current display size but make it a smaller tablet, so we’ll have to wait and see. We’re also not sure what other changes Apple could make, but since the iPad mini isn’t a flagship device, we doubt that we’ll be seeing features like Face ID or LiDAR.

In any case if you do like the iPad mini’s form factor, then maybe this could be a refresh worth looking forward to, but until we hear officially from Apple, it’s probably best not to get your hopes up just yet.
